Emotion by David Vance

Published

on

David Vance is first an artist, a person who expresses himself through a medium – and David Vance’s medium is the camera. In “Emotion – Photographs by David Vance” the critically acclaimed photographer shares his particular vision of emotions with us. “As a beauty addict, I am compelled photographing beautiful subjects. When I see something that is beautiful, I want to show it to the world the way I have experienced it,” says Vance. Influenced by the great movie star portraits of George Hurrell and the great fashion photographers of the 1950s, Richard Avedon and Irving Penn, Vance creates an image world of its own: beautiful, sensual, and emotional.

Two male models accuse Rick Day of sexual assault

Pall alleges that Day first reached out to him in November 2007 via the online platform Model Mayhem.

Yesterday The Advocate published a report about fashion photographer Rick Day.

In exclusive interviews, Barrett Pall and Kai Braden both claim they were groomed and sexually assaulted by Day when they were teenagers.

Pall alleges that Day first reached out to him in November 2007 via the online platform Model Mayhem. He said he was interested in shooting him for a coffee-table book.

In the message, which The Advocate obtained a screenshot of, Day assured Pall he was “not looking for a hook up … but I find you very cute and would love to shoot a hot sexy shot of you.”

Being a young male model poses unique challenges. In addition to fears of being ostracized for coming out about harassment and assault, there is also a perceived standard of masculinity that countless men hide behind.

Pall uploaded a YouTube video called “Why It’s Harder Being a Gay Model #MeToo.” Though he mentions no names in particular, Pall adds that when you’re starting in the industry, there is an “underlying agreement that you will kind of do what you have to do to book campaigns… and a lot of that involves sexual acts, a lot of that involves sexual abuse.”

Photographer Spotlight: Marcin Rychly

Published

When Marcin began his adventure with photography a few years ago, he didn’t realize that it would turn out to be not only a true passion but also an inspiring way forward in life.

Today, equipped with professional photographic equipment, he aims to show things that wouldn’t otherwise be seen, using his imagination, together with his long fascination with film and experience as a computer graphic designer to help. He tries, in his own way, to capture faces, fleeting thoughts, momentary glances and those occasions which without photography would be “lost in time, like tears in rain.”

Michael came into the world holding a camera in one hand and a cooking spatula in the other. Driven by a passion for capturing life on film and the desire for the best red velvet cake recipe, he continues to strive for a photographic utopia and the perfect dinner party.

For over 25 years, Michael has been capturing images and since childhood, he has always been fascinated with photography. Everything from candid family photos to classic Hollywood stars posing for legendary photographers has dazzled Michael’s creative eye. The master of Hollywood glamour photography, George Hurrell was his earliest influence even before Michael realized photography would become his lifelong passion.

The dream of creating a coffee table book has been one of Michael’s professional goals for many years. Now faced with the book’s creation, he had to develop a fun and interesting theme from a personal interest. So it only seemed natural to photograph hot, naked guys eating desserts. Jose, Michael’s sexy and clever partner then gave him the idea to add recipes to these photographs.

Creating this book has become a labor of love, not only photographing the images but also discovering countless, fantastic recipes and the delicious task of sampling them. Most of the desserts are Michael’s favorites, however there is one he decided to include that was a model’s pick, it’s flan. Michael intentionally selected guys that are as diverse as the desserts! The gorgeous models come from different backgrounds and nationalities. Some are tall, skinny, muscular, toned, hairless or quite hairy. Michael is hoping people will embrace the mouthwatering diversity and appreciate the delectable photos whether it’s a flavor they prefer or not.
